Every Gift Makes A Difference

We rely on grants and donations from individuals and businesses to fund the majority of our mission and on volunteer doctors and nurses to treat most of our patients. Every gift is important and helps us provide essential health and dental care to the poor and vulnerable. Because we are a non-profit 501(c)(3), all donations are tax deductible to the extent allowable by law.

Become a Good Samaritan: Our Good Samaritans are those who agree to provide financial support to the Marian Clinic on a monthly basis. There are several ways to arrange this.

• We can provide you with twelve, pre-addressed return mail envelopes;
• We can charge your credit card every month with the amount you authorize;
• You may submit your contributions using a credit or debit card, or via PayPal — just click the Donate button at the top right.

Gifts of Cash: Often people ask us what they can do to make a difference in a patient's life. Your donations of cash will provide medical and dental equipment and supplies, help us maintain our offices, pay our staff, and provide other services which enable our patients to lead healthier lives. Gifts are tax deductible to the extent provided by law.

$15 provides 1 patient medical visit
$25 provides one tooth extraction
$50 provides a pair of prescription eye glasses, or provides one dental examination and x-ray
$100 provides two emergency dental visits
$550 provides care for one patient for one year (The current national average for health care is approximately $8,000 per year. Our community collaboration and partnership with our local hospitals, pharmaceutical companies, and volunteer providers allow us to provide comprehensive care for just 6.8% of that.)

Memorial or Tribute Gifts: Remember a special friend or loved one, or honor a colleague with a tribute gift to the Marian Clinic in that person's name. You will receive our letter of acknowledgement for your taxes, and a separate notification will be sent to the person you indicate. All tribute gifts are put to use helping the poor and vulnerable, a lasting legacy with a higher purpose.

• To make your memorial/tribute gift using our online PayPal account you may send your PayPal amount using the button at the upper right of this page. Please also send a separate email to rmaus@marianclinic.org to tell us the person who you are honoring and the person you would like us to notify.
• Memorial/tribute gifts may also be sent by U.S. Postal Service mail to Marian Clinic, 1001 SW Garfield, Topeka, KS 66604.

Legacy Gift Options: Leave a lasting impression. Your legacy gift to Marian Clinic can touch the future lives of disenfranchised individuals and continue to ensure that health care is made affordable for those who would otherwise have nowhere to turn.

• Gifts of Securities: We welcome gifts of stocks or other investments. You receive a tax deduction based on the security's fair market value on the date of the gift, avoiding federal capital gains tax you might otherwise owe.
• Gifts in your Will: Leave a specific dollar amount or percentage of assets in your will to the Marian Clinic.
• Gift in your IRA or Pension: Name the Marian Clinic as the beneficiary of your IRA or pension.
• Gifts of Real Estate, vehicles, art, jewelry: If you are considering a gift of this kind, please contact us before December 31st so we can determine the acceptability of the gift.
• Gifts of Life Insurance: You may purchase a life insurance policy naming the Marian Clinic as a beneficiary or name us as the beneficiary of an existing policy. Doing that may allow you to claim future premiums as a tax-deduction. You may also qualify for income tax deductions when the organization receiving the policy is named as owner and beneficiary.

Gifts That Provide Income For You: Other assets you own might be appropriate for charitable trusts. These provide income for you and perhaps another beneficiary that you choose. At the end of a specified period, the balance of the assets would be given to the Marian Clinic.

Gifts of Equipment and Supplies: By donating items we would otherwise need to purchase, you can help our resources stretch further. Please look over our "Wish List" If you would like to donate these or any other medical supplies or equipment that is still usable, you may donate to the Clinic and receive a tax deduction. If in doubt about the item, please email rmaus@marianclinic.org. (Please note: we can no longer accept prescription medications.)

Gifts of Your Time and Talents: Become a volunteer. The Marian Clinic could not function without the help of our dedicated volunteers. Whether as a health care professional, clerical support person, or occasional gardener, the gift of your time and skills is precious to us.
